Healthy food for health

Administrator December 2nd, 2008

Being healthy is not just a matter of exercising and avoiding drugs and alcohol. It also involves a ritual that we practice everyday: eating. As you might have heard somewhere else: you are what you eat. And that is not fiction, it is the reality.

Think about what you eat everyday. Are you eating health food? If not, continue reading.
If yes, still continue reading, as you might get some extra ideas of what you should be nourished with.

If you are overweight (don´t get me wrong, that doesn´t mean at all you are not good-looking) then you should start worrying about it, as it definitely shows you don´t care about your health (unless you have a tiroides related disease not allowing you to control your weight).

I imagine you are a person who would like going to the beach sometimes during summer and have a partner who tells you how handsome or pretty you look in those thigh shorts or in that bikini. Who doesn´t? Well, if you continue eating crap you will never look as fabulous as you (and your partner) would like.

Health food does not exist only for good-looking purposes, it also allows you to keep yourself in excellent health conditions.

Let me give you some ideas of what you need to eat for a healthy way of living.

1-Vegetables
2-Fruits
3-Fish
4-Seeds
5-Nuts
6-Whole grains
7-Low fat milk, yogurs.
8-Bread (brown bread is the most recommended)

I encourage you to start making adjustments in your regular diet, consult with a nutritionist so he/she can design it for you according to your body condition, age and needs and start eating health food for a healthy life!

Moms! Feed your children!

Administrator October 30th, 2008

I know, I know, you already feed them, but how much of the food you make for them could be considered like healthy recipes?

Now, don’t worry, these healthy recipes can be many different things, they can be salads, they could be sandwiches, even hamburgers, but the thing to watch while making these healthy recipes is the quantity and the calorie amount, you don’t want your kids to consume lots of fat, and neither would I, I know how bad that could be for them, so, before you go into a McDonalds, let me tell you about the kinds of healthy recipes that will allow your kids to eat “junk food”

It is okay of your kids have a hamburger, what you want is for your kids to eat a home made hamburger instead of one from outside, a homemade meal like this could include nutritive lettuce, much less calories, a lot less sauces and the meat, as it is grilled, will be less fattening and more nutritive than any other hamburger out there.

There you have it, there are many healthy recipes that your kids could enjoy eating, but you must make sure that they are balanced in nutritive complements versus fat, the decision is yours mom, you can even make salad fun, it is really up to you.

There are many kinds of healthy recipes waiting to be discovered, if you feel like you need some more info, I suggest you to search online for healthy food to feed your children, I also suggest you to talk to a nutritionist before changing their diet.

Decrease in natural health.

Administrator October 24th, 2008

I visited my doctor last week for my yearly exams and luckily the results indicated I am in good health. Lately I haven’t been exercising and I haven’t paid attention to my diet which is why I was nervous that the test results would indicate high blood cholesterol. You cannot expect to have natural health when you are older, you have to take care of yourself and watch your diet.

Children are blessed with natural health; they can eat processed foods containing large quantities of sugar and fat and still maintain a healthy weight. Their energy levels are always high and they love to play or to perform sports. Unfortunately this is not the case for older people, as we constantly find ourselves too tired to exercise or even to spend time with friends. We would rather go home after work, lie in bed with a bag on chips and watch television. There is no time dedicated to exercise in our daily routines.

As time passes our natural health is diminished and we start to develop many kinds of diseases such as high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, stress and fatigue. As we grow older it becomes increasingly important for us to make extra efforts to maintain our bodies and our minds in a healthy condition. We have to understand that natural health will not last forever and that it is our responsibility to keep healthy by choosing to maintain a healthy diet and by exercising regularly.
